The One who looks down
Installation, sponge, wire, thread, silicone
2021
The installation The One who looks down forms into an organic system of tangled lumps. Rough surfaces battle with wrinkled facades. A shimmery coat dresses the dark mess. The bodies turn and twist in an inner struggle, at the same time unable to escape the gentle pull of gravity. Grown here, aged here, deeply rooted. Like a rich fauna that feeds one. Like the fertile land one longs for. Like an ancient being that one visits. Like a shadow one meets in awe.
